I am upgrading a QNAP NAS for hardware transcoding on Plex. I know the official QNAP line is that the TVS-671 does not support a GPU, but I wondered if anybody has successfully done this and if so can share information on the process, I am looking to install a NVidea Quadro P620, so this is a lower end model and only draws 40W, I suspect the challenge is with modifying the BIOS.
Any help will be gratefully received. Thanks.
If QNAP’s firmware doesn’t support it then it’s not going to happen.
They are very strict on that integration with QTS.
Playing with the BIOS (which has tamper-detection logic in it) can brick it.
(I nearly bricked a TVS-1282 by making a bios setting change)
