I am setting up a system where a PC containing the movies with plex installed is hooked up to a TV. I was wondering if it would be possible to select a movie and control it through another pc with an app just like the iOS not through http. So basically I would like to do the same thing as with an iPad/iPhone but with another computer rather than an iPad/iphone. Is it possible? I know there is http remote controls but I would like to also choose the movie etc. Thanks!
My setup is exactly the same as the guy above. A Win7 PC hidden in the cabinet and hooked up to the TV and hifi. At the moment I’m using VNC from a laptop to control that PC and use/control the TV PC (or just using the keyboard/mouse of the TV PC which I’d much rather be able to hide away). Although this works well, it is a little cumbersome and shows that this kind of setup would benefit greatly from a small Windows or web based application to control Plex. As there’s an iOS app to do exactly this, I assume (although I’m no programmer) it wouldn’t be too huge a job to create a similar thing for Windows (and Macs for those who use them).
Judging by the lack of responses to the OP, I guess there isn’t much demand for this 
Does anyone out there know if it’s being developed somewhere or is it not even on the cards yet? I’d be up for testing anything anyone programs but am totally unable to program myself so can’t assist with the creation of it
