App crashes on Shield when selecting "Scan Library"

Hello all,

I have no idea how or why this started happening but when I select “scan Library Files” it immediately closes the app and goes on the dashboard on the Shield.

I’ve noticed this seems to happen when selecting the pin option from the side menu and even when selecting a subtitle option when playing a video.

I have already updated both Plex Media Server and the Plex app, uninstalled/re-installed apps, cleared app cache, etc. but still no change.

Can anyone please help?

The Android app is broken. Has been broken and will continue to be broken. I just tested it. It’s broke.

The only app Plex has that works on Android is the mobile app.

Well that’s…helpful…
I mean, it was working ‘fine’ up until now with the occasional annoyances.

If so then any suggestions on what could work as an alternative? Or another software to suggest?

I had originally chosen the nvidia shield because of the capability of running Plex Server off of it so I wouldn’t have to have a computer or something always running.
