Nvidia Shield latest Plex Player app (10.12.1.3) crashes when selecting Library tab (Personal Media)

Latest plex app update on Nvidia Shield Pro (Model Number:P2897 version 11, Model: Shied Android TV)

Nvidia Shield Pro latest Plex App update (version 10.12.1.370) crashes the Plex Player app when selecting Library tab for any Personal Media Shows in my library… Other Movies or TV Shows libraries do not crash the Plex player app (version 10.12.1.370). This behavior started right after latest update.

I also tried clearing cache and data but app still crashes when selecting Library tab for any Personal Media Shows in my library. Plex Player app for Fire TV Cube works perfect, but this new Plex Player app update for Nvidia Shield Pro broke for Personal Media Shows Library tab forcing crash,

I rolled back to version 10.6.0.5141 (December 2023 release) and now i get no more crashes. If i reinstall any version released in 2024, for example 10.7.0.5386, or 10.11.0.183 or 10.12.1.370). the Plex player app on my Nvidia Shield will crash randomly on regular library Movie or TV Show Library tabs.

But like i stated above it especially crashes Plex player app when the Library is a Plex Personal Media Library. I appreciate a fix to these random crash bugs.

The newest version 3rd of April still has the same problem.

Yes thank you for confirming… I saw other people having the same issue of the app crashing when clicking library tabs crashing on Android Plex player up on Google Play store.

Hopefully Plex Support can fix it!

Do Plex Support Developers even look at these bug report posts? What is the point of posting these bugs if no one from Plex Support even acknowledges them? It seems Plex crashes regardless of being a personal media library.

No idea if they read it, and we have no solutions (other than rolling back/disabling auto-updates)… but those of us with this problem are commiserating in in Plex app crashing on Nvidia Shield Pro when browsing libraries

A Plex employee at least showed up once over there…

Any status on this issue with libraries crashing? (also replying so ticket doesn’t auto close without Plex support looking at or replying to this ticket)

I just tested latest May 2024 Plex app update for Nvidia Shiled Pro and it has fixed the Plex app from crashing when switching between library tabs. Thank you Plex Support Team for fixing this :slight_smile:
