App crashing when attempting playback on files with 7.1 audio

These files work using the Apple TV app, web, desktop, etc. However, I’ve attempted it on three (3) different Apple mobile devices (iPhone 15, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPad mini 7th gen). The file seemingly buffers for 30-60 seconds then the app crashes completely. The dashboard shows no transcode information, although the local bandwidth does show activity.

Edit: I changed the settings within the app to disallow Direct Play/Stream and everything works, further indicating (in my opinion) that this is an issue with the 7.1 codecs for iOS/iPadOS playback.

Welcome to hell! This is a known issue since many months ago that has yet to be picked up by the team. Easily reproduced bug and logs have been provided, but zilch.

Just thought you should know they fixed it in the most recent update. Finally after 12 updates and 7 months. @netbook_memos

Sounds like a different issue, if their’s is crashing the entire app vs just not playing. Though they certainly could be related.

So I just updated to version 2026.0.0 (1515) and direct play seems to work for 7.1 audio codecs now on both iOS and iPadOS applications. Thanks @Ntn_Grts for the update and info!
