App exits to Home screen after exactly 2 hours and 55 minutes

Having this issue since I started using Plex couple of months ago. First I thought it was the app crashing being early preview release, then I thought it was my tv(OLED) being new model with unrecognized chipset causing app crashing every now and then… Did all I could think of to debug this issue with no success.
Been clocking tv shows playback for the last 3 days now and it’s 100% app quits to Smartcast home screen after exactly 2 hours and 55 minutes of continuous(one episode after another) playback. Does it have something to do with my problem here?
Seems like this is some ridicules limitation enforced over 5 years ago…!?
Don’t know if it’s server or client side issue but can we get rid of it, please… It is annoying interrupting my shows playback every 2:55 hrs…

That limit is 2 hours, but at the end of the episode, not at an exact time, so not sure if it is related to your issue. Even if it was hitting that limit, it should only stop the post-play screen from automatically going to the next episode. It shouldn’t go back to the TV’s main page.

To double check if that limitation is the issue. Create a playlist of episodes you want to play and then watch that playlist. The limitation should not apply so if it goes beyond 2:55 then somehow that limitation is causing this.

Thank you for your response. I tried playlists before and it does the same thing.
Anyway I think I found what might be my issue. It’s similar to this HDMI ports related one:

I have PC connected via HDMI to my tv and disconnecting it I was able to use Plex for over 4+ hours without issues. Alto I use good 48Gbps HDMI cable it seems PC is sending some test signal or something over HDMI every 2:55 hrs which disrupts the tv’s ethernet port.
I will be testing different HDMI port modes/WiFi over the next couple of days to see what works and what doesn’t and post an update for future reference in case somebody else experience this issue…

Oh, so you’re not using the Plex app on the TV itself? What Plex client are you using?

I am using Plex for Vizio on the tv. The tv’s HDMI port causes some internal circuit interference that disrupts the wired ethernet connection I guess or some other circuit that causes Plex app to quit to SmartCast screen during playback.
So obviously it’s a problem with the tv’s hardware/software, not Plex.
