App.plex.tv is unable to connect to "My Library" securely

Server Version#: 4.135.2
Player Version#:
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

Hello,

Sorry, I am not good at this stuff and have no idea where to find my player version.

My problem is tonight when I opened up Plex in my web browser like every other night it won’t load my libraries. There is a yellow triangle with a black exclamation point in it on every category, and when I go into the settings My Library has a red triangle. It says Unable to connect to “My Library” securely.

I verified all my media is still there on my drives, and playable. My wifi is connected and everything else is running fine. I have rebooted my computer, router and Plex several times with no luck. I am not sure why this happened or what I can do to fix it.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Again, sorry for the sparse information.

Can’t help just wanted to note I’m having the same issue after the last few days, nothing changed on my end.

I am still having the same issue. It has been weeks that I have been unable to use my Plex account at all. I made no changes to anything prior to the issue. I have totally deleted Plex and started over in hopes that I could just recreate everything but I have the same issue. The library simply says unable to connect. Again, the servers and everything are active, and connected.

In the meantime I downloaded Emby so I could access my files in the meantime and it is working perfectly. No connections issues. Again I am not very versed in computer things so I am at a loss to figure out what to do. It is frustrating that there isn’t an easier support option for a program I am paying for.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you

plex

First, thank you to the person who suggested I download the windows app. Up to now I have always accessed Plex directly through the plex website. I downloaded the app, and it shows my server as connected. I can access all my libraries fine through it. However only through it on my computer.

When I tried to access Plex through my TV, or other devices like before they still say the server is offline, as does the webpage. So I still cannot use or view my plex as before. However maybe this helps narrow down what my issue is?

Thanks again

Having the same issues. Hoping someone posts a fix in this thread soon

The picture in @Nenra 's post shows that either the plex media server isnt running or that Plex cant communicate with it. Step 1 is to see if plex is running: http://[Local Plex Media Server IP Address]:32400/web

Hi dbirch. Thank you so much for your reply. Just for some background, during the past few weeks while trying to resolve this I have completely uninstalled and re-installed Plex on my PC, as well as the server.

I went to the link you provided and followed the steps listed. Verified I am running the most current version. I have signed in and am using the account. To be sure I right clicked on the Plex server on my toolbar and selected check for updates. It prompted me to re-start which I did. Now when I open Plex in my web browser it is showing as connected and my libraries are back.

This is great news as I haven’t gotten this far since this happened. However I am still having a problem. While I can now see the server in my internet program (Microsoft Edge) I am still unable to access it through the app on my television or my phone. Both say offline.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the Plex app on both devices with no luck. Any ideas what may be preventing my server from reaching them?

Thank you again for all your help,

I am still not able to use my Plex. It’s going on three weeks now with no access at all to my libraries through my phone or TV. To date I have totally uninstalled and re-installed my Plex app, and my server. This did finally get my library to show up through my app when I view it through my web browser on my computer, but it will now show up anywhere else.

I have also uninstalled the Plex app from my TV and reinstalled but it will not connect. It tells me the library/server is not available. The same on my phone. Again, I made no changes to anything three weeks ago so I have no idea why this suddenly happened. Also, in the meantime I have loaded Emby so I can still access my content, and it is working fine on all devices, so I know the connections are working.

I have tried countless times to follow the steps in the guides on here but even after following them all I still cannot connect. I really hate to leave Plex after so many years but I don’t know what else to try, and I am now paying money for something I can no longer use.

Is there anyone who has had this problem and knows the solution, or who can give me ideas of what to try? Once again I am very bad at understanding technical things like this so please keep that in mind. Any help would be wonderful.

In hopes of finding help for my issue I am re-posting a more detailed breakdown of what is happening. I have searched the threads but haven’t found anything to help.

HOW I CONNECT:

I open Plex on my computer’s web browser. I can see all of my library on the site and this is where I make changes (add/remove/etc.) as needed. I have to leave the web browser open on Plex in order to access my library on my cell phone or smart tv. I use the Plex apps on both of these and am able to see and watch all my content this way.

PROBLEM:

I made no changes to my computer, or my Wi-Fi (router/etc.). In the evening I used my Plex (using PLEX app on my smart tv). The next morning when I tried to connect it said my library was unavailable.

I checked all my physical connections, rebooted the computer and my router multiple times but the problem persisted. I confirmed I had connection to the internet on my computer, cell phone and smart tv which has continued to work as normal. I posted on here for assistance and received a suggestion to try to uninstall the Plex app and server and reinstall. I followed the step by step instructions and did this. When I finished, and opened my Plex account it still showed my library was unavailable.

I did discover that when I click on CHECK FOR UPDATES on my Plex server on my taskbar it opens my Plex in my web browser and then (and only then) it shows my library and says in it accessible. However it still cannot be found anywhere else. My cell phone and smart tv cannot connect or find it.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

I did download another program called Emby so that I could access my content. It is working fine so I know everything is still capable of running. Not sure if this helps but thought it was worth mentioning. I am not very technically literate, and am not sure how to provide — or how to access or share logs, or what information is even safe for me to share. I am happy to provide more information if somebody can explain how and what would be helpful.

I have been using Plex for years now and pay for a subscription, but it is frustrating that I am paying for a service that I can no longer use. I am desperate for a solution and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

Still having this problem myself. Is there a better way to get in touch with the Devs other than this support forum? Seems like there’s no real help to be had here.
