App.plex.tv is unable to connect to "Synology" securely

Server Version#: 1.32.8.7639
Player Version#: Google Chrome

My server on my Synology was from the beginning version 1.29.2.6364, it worked perfectly for about 6 months, and then I manually installed version 1.32.8.7639 and it has not worked since.

I have friends and family that have there one plex accounts that I have added to my media library, and ALL of them no get this massage when they try to watch pictures and videos:

app.plex.tv is unable to connect to “Watch That Flick” securely

Its “Secure connections” setting may be set to disabled, or you may need to adjust some settings on your network.

.

There are a lot of unusable explanation out there, but NO solutions.
I have read the “How to Use Secure Server Connections”, it tells how awesome you for providing us with “high-quality secure certificates”.

“So yeah, we’re buying you all DigiCert certificates for your media servers. Because we love you.”

“Plex has teamed up with Let’s Encrypt to provide our users with high-quality secure certificates for your media servers, at no cost to you”, that’s AWESOME, but where du I get the certificates/information?? so I can put it in to my server config ?

Under Network:
Custom certificate location

Path to a PKCS #12 file containing a certificate and private key to enable TLS support on a custom domain.

Custom certificate encryption key

Custom certificate domain

Domain name to be published to plex.tv using your mapped port; must match a name from the custom certificate file.

If I set Secure connections to “Required” it changes nothing…

I’m LOST, I can’t any solutions to this problem, to even in this forum.

I hope someone can help me since I can’t find any support email to PLEX.

Regards

@WatchThatFlick

I have looked at your Plex.tv account and the server details.

There is no certificate defined for the server.

I can help you fix this and make it properly secured/claimed again
(I’m not certain it’s properly claimed)

FIRST

  1. Please Restart Plex and let it run for 3 minutes
  2. Now stop Plex
  3. Open FileStation
  4. Navigate to PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server
  5. Right-Click LogsCompress to Logs.zip
  6. When that completes, download to your computer
  7. Lastly, upload / attach that in your reply here.
  8. I’ll look at what’s going wrong
