i was wondering if it worth to buy an applentv for my mother to watch my content over myplex. she has no local server so only remote server is in discution here. i read here and there that myplex is not working at the moment, did something changed meanwhile? thanks
At the moment plexconnect does not support myplex. So it would not work.

Even of myplex was supported I am not sure it would work in this situation as the application does not run on the ATV the ATV’s trailer app just points to plexconnect, plexconnect then would be connected to myplex. So you would have to have plexconnect running at your mums.
But this is all just my thoughts, no facts on how it would work.

I'm not sure roku support direct play for all the formats that appletv supports. appletv is not a great options since in the future the actual working method could be banned when new ios version come out.
