I use the Plex client on a Samsung TV and I would like to request an option to tag movies as available in Apple TV on 4K. I have a local HD version and also a 4K copy available in iTunes, which I would prefer to play. This new tag would be great to remind f the versions I have available.
Not quite sure I understand your request.
You want to have some kind of indicator that you have another version of that video on a 3rd party platform (specifically in your iTunes / Apple TV environment)?
There’s been some requests in the past to allow for some level of integration, e.g.
- linking online streamers → Link online streamers
- support for STRM files which point to a URL (like that of an online streamer) → [REQ] ADD STRM Support
Yes, your description of my feature is correct. To make it helpful for a user, if a tag / indicator was introduced I would know I have a higher quality TV / Movie available elsewhere, rather than having to check if I have purchased a 4K option in iTunes.
I understand the issues surrounding linking from Plex to other online streamers, so thought this would be an easier option.
2023 clean-up: there’s a similar suggestion focusing on linking content available to you in a different ecosystem into your libraries using the Discover features.
