I have been having this issue where sometimes when I try to watch someone on my Plex Server on my Apple TV 4K 2021 at the same location as the Plex Server, on the same network, the media begins by showing a loading screen, then says that the server is either offline or cannot be found, then I see the explanation marks on each media directories.
When I then check the server(which is running on Windows 10(latest version) the Plex Media Seever app is still running in task tray, but when I go to the server to see any logs, I get a message saying server cannot be found, please download the Plex media server to continue.
Then I must restart the whole computer itself, which then temporarily fixes the issue.
The issue is, it does not seem to occur to any of my 20 plus users that use the Apple TV 4K, but only mine at my house.
This also does not happen every time I watch something, I would say 3/10 times I play media from the Plex app for Apple TV.
Upon asking Reddit, one user confirmed this exact thing was happening to him, and he found no resolution.
I am not sure if the issue is with the Plex Media Server or the Plex App for Apple TV, I am leaning more on the Apple TV app, but regardless, this is a highly frustrating issue that not only stops me from watching my content, but also all of my users.
It’s a gamble when I go to watch content because I don’t know if my server will crash just from me trying to watch content.
Plex support please advise. This issue is causing me and my users issues.
