Apple TV 4K (1st Gen) cannot see Media Server

Player Version#: 7.17 (Apple TV)

When trying to access Plex via other devices it works (Fire Stick, Apple TV HD, iPad, iPhone….) so I don’t think it’s a server issue.

But when I try to access it via the Apple TV 4K it doesn’t work, it says it can’t access the server, Retry. I can access other Off LAN Servers and I can access everything else from the Apple TV 4K with no problems. I can also ping the Apple TV from the Mac with Plex Server so I’d be surprised if it’s a network issue.

What could be causing this?

I have the same problem. Strangely i can see a friends server but not my own on my own LAN, yet my two other apple tv working fine so cant be the server.
All updated to newest OS and plex server

I wonder if it’s something to do with tvOS 14.5.

the BBC iPlayer has a weird thing where it’s always 2 hours behind on live TV and that’s down to 14.5.

I have a similar issue. Been working fine until I updated my server today.
Server Version#: 1.23.1.4571 (Win10)
Player Version#: 7.17 (Apple TV 4k Gen 1)

It seems to happen when I update my server via the web interface versus via the app on the Apple TV. This is 2nd time it happened under these conditions. It seems something goes out of sync.
The logs on my server seemingly show a successful connection attempt while the log from the shows the connection also being successful (it gets all the media folders) followed by a time out error.

The good news, I guess, is that it resolves itself at some point. The bad news is I seemingly can’t force it. Logout/in, server restart, apple tv restart etc. nothing seemingly resolves the issue.
