Apple TV 4K audio sync issues with enhanced player

I tried the audio fix beta with files I know there was some desync, so far so good it seems.
It’s not perfect, but definetly harder to notice. Will provide more info if I notice new A/V desync.

Chiming in with the same issue. My setup…

Apple TV 4K to Denon AVR X1700H to LG G2 OLED (EARC input) using 48gbps monoprice cables.

Sync issues only apparent when using the new player, old player seems accurate. Installed Infuse to test against and that seems correct too.

Tried to sign up for the TestFlight beta but it’s full.

Is there an ETA for the release of a version with the potential fix?

Installed v8.14 beta but I still have AV sync issues. I can flip back and forth between the ATV 4K (2022) and the Nvidia Shield Pro and see the difference.

Did you enable the changes though?

I was ready to sign up for Plex pass and start putting all my videos on Synology (one of the main reasons I bought it was for Plex) and now this. No point paying for Plex pass when there’s a fundamental issue like this. Monitoring this resolution as I don’t know how to proceed now. I know Plex isn’t the only option but overall it seems to be the best, but this kind of ruins things.

Try asking for “ to enable the audio sync feature to @DaveBinM as he told on one of his previous Messages
This worked for me!
EDIT with low resolution (720 and 1080) i still have the same issue!

I DM’d with @DaveBinM and he confirmed the changes were made on his end

That’s a shame. Notice any difference between resolutions/formats?

DaveDinM told me doesn’t matter the resolution, but i don’t know why i can see the sync issue with 1080 file (i’m watching Dottor House again to testing :grimacing:) and with 4k video no.
Maybe the issue is sill present in both resolutions but it’s more noticeable in lower one. I’m going crazy!!!
Obviosly this is my opinion only

Correction:
Issue is still present in 4k resolution too.

8.14 beta doesn’t work for me!

Apple just released tvOS 16:3 - any fixes or improvements for Plex in this release?

https://www.macrumors.com/2023/01/24/apple-releases-tvos-16-3/

So a small note in case it’s relevant or helpful. I just tried some 30 fps 1080p content with stereo ac3 and no lip sync issues. But when I try a 24 fps 4K film with 5.1 DTS-HD soundtrack the lip sync is well, horrible. Updated to tvOS 16.3 but didn’t seem to make any difference.

Just chiming in that I also have this problem. I’m going to assume most people do actually. My wife can’t notice it, but I can.

Playing on Infuse it doesn’t happen.

Patiently waiting for the new version to roll out.

I just want to make a little side note (not directly relevant) - Besides this issue I also noticed that when watching a series on Amazon prime via my Apple TV 4K going via my AC receiver - the lip sync is also not 100% correct. It is not as bad as Plex (not even close) - but it is also not 100%.

So 8.14 is fully released now. I assume this doesn’t have the potential sync fixing flag switched on?

So updating to 8.14 seems to actually have solved my issue or at least made it a LOT less visible. I didn’t turn on or changed anything in the settings, yay!

The changes are still flagged-off by default in 8.14, it requires manual enabling by myself.

See DM. Ready to test/compare.

reached out by DM, hoping to test out the changes in the update.

Also reached out, would be great to get this sync thing fixed.
