This has been an on-going issue for YEARS. As a result, in 2019, I switched to Infuse as my primary client on the Apple TV, and as of today, nothing has changed.
Tonight, I decided to give Plex app another try, but the issue still persists.
Video is super choppy and jagged on the Plex app player through my Apple TV device. Only through the Apple TV device is plex app crappy, Plex app directly on the TV is fine, but who uses the TVs OS? I have Amazon, Hulu, Netflix all delivering 4k content perfectly through the Apple TV device, yet Plex can’t play 1080p or 4k without being a choppy crap fest.
Yet infuse, which connects to the same plex server, through the same Apple TV device, plays 1080p and 4k content PERFECTLY. No choppy or jagged video at all.
As someone with TS compartmentalized access to what American companies do to each other in espionage, I assure you this wreaks of the same scent.
Plex on Apple TV is compromised, 100%.
If you have a bad plex experience on Apple TV, just pay the $20 for infuse, and your videos will play fine w/out chop.
