Apple TV + HomePod Mini: Audio out of sync (tvOS 15)

Hi, first of all: I really like Plex and enjoy their services in general.

So here’s the deal: As you might know, tvOS 15 has been released to the public. With tvOS 15, you can set up your HomePods Minis as the standard audio output. While you could always use your HomePods Minis as an audio output, you can now set it as default. Before tvOS 15 I’ve noticed that audio and video in Plex is out of sync, if you use the HomePods Minis as output, but I thought: “They will fix it when tvOS 15 is released to the public.” But having tvOS 15 installed by now, the problem seems to persist.

I’ve thought that this might be an individual problem of my setup, but it seems that other players like YouTube or other Plex competition doesn’t have this delay at all. So my question is: Is the Plex Team aware of this issue? Are there other people with this specific type of problem?

I’m seeing the same thing on my end.

Audio is fine when playing through TV speakers, but it’s off by a fraction of a second via HomePods.

I switched to Invision 7 Pro as a test and the same video files are fine there, so this definitely seems like a Plex playback issue not properly handling the audio sync delay properly.
