I have been using the plex app on my Apple TV for about a year now and do really like it, although recently I have brought myself two HomePods to have a better audio experience then just the tv speaker.
They’re really good on everything apart from the plex app!
The first issue I had was the audio just cutting out after a few mins of watching content and I managed to fix this by using the “use old audio player” option, Great so all sorted right? No
Next the audio track is wildly out of sync with the video so I can use the offset option, but the offset is different on every film or tv show I watch so I need to manually adjust it every single time I watch something new.
And then to top it all off the audio plays for at least 5 seconds after the content is paused and then is silent for 5 seconds after you unpause it’s just quite disappointing really.
I have been able to fix these audio issues by choosing the “use old video player” option but then plex just refuses to play any hdr content so what are my options?
I was thinking of paying for plex pass before all of this but with all these issues I don’t think I will be, I have been recommended to use the app “Infuse” that is available on ATV and connects to your plex and all of these issues are resolved but you do have to pay for their version of plex pass to get hdr content but this is quite obviously a bug that is only present on plex and I think the developers should really look into it.
If not then will just be using Infuse and will get on with my life but I can grantee that I’m not the only person experiencing this?
