Having an issue that I can’t seem to fix. It happened once a couple of weeks ago, I did need an update. I updated my server and it worked fine until the next day. Now I can’t get it to work.
I have done everything except reinstall my server. I have logged out and back in. I’ve reinstalled the app. Last night I even wiped the Apple TV and it’s still doing the same thing. I’ll attach two images that should explain my issue.
As the error message on your Apple TV states… newer versions of the Plex clients need a newer version of PMS than the one you’re currently running (PMS 1.18.3 or newer).

- This release requires Plex Media Server 1.18.3 or newer.
It looks like the update check on your server is giving you a bad “up to date” feedback.
PMS 1.18.2 has been released in November of 2019… the latest public release is PMS 1.21.1 from January 6, 2021.
On what platform/OS are you running this PMS of yours?
Alright, have you ever had a disconnect between what you see and what you interpret? I clearly have. Anyways I appreciate you printing out the version discrepancy. I forgot though what makes it more confusing. So, I’m gonna give you a little more information than you actually need but I assure it’s somewhat relevant.
I bought a new house in November. The relevance being, when I moved I completely rebuilt my server. The only thing running on the server other than the OS (server 2016) is currently Plex. The version I initially installed was 1.21.0.3616. So, any thoughts on how my version seems to be downgraded?

The server itself “thinks” it’s on version 1.18.2… did you migrate that server from an old machine or restore it from a backup? I take it you only have 1 server running… so the one on version 1.18.2 is your main server and no orphaned install on some other device?
Yeah, this is my only server and it was a fresh install. The old server was acting up so I did a fresh install on new hardware and sold the old hardware. I only know what version I installed because the installer is still in my downloads folder. What’s even more weird is that it’s worked fine since the install up until recently.
