Just installed newest version of plex on my Appletv. Gone are my server Libraries series movies etc. Now I only get “movies & tv on plex”, webshows, news and podcasts. After fiddling wit the gui, removing and adding hubs etc. It seems impossible to remove the “plex provided content” and select my own server.
What gives! How do I remove this never requested content? Where do I select my own server and block plex content ?
I am a paying user sinds ages, please give me back control
Let’s double-check that server version of yours.
If it’s actually version 1.9.6, you should update that server once more. The current version of the PMS as of today is 1.19.3 – and those old versions of PMS could give your Apple TV some hiccups.
The version of Plex installed on your Apple TV is ok (v2.18). Your Plex Media Server is not up to date (v1.9.6 < v1.19.3; your version is approx. 2.5 years old)
thanks for the switft response! it was indeed the version. some how the plex on my macmini (osx) didn’t suggest it needed updateing, apparently for 2.5 years.! i did check it periodically on the servers settings page.
anyways now its fixed!
I’m also having this issue. My Mac is running High Sierra and unable to upgrade further. Is there another solution as I cannot update my Plex server beyond v1.9.6
Why shouldn’t you be able to update your Plex Media Server?
According to the download page the minimum OS is macOS 10.9 (Mavericks) – you are on 10.13 (High Sierra)… so PMS v1.19.3 should be perfectly in your reach
Thanks very much and I read the version number precidence the wrong way as you guessed. My ‘check for latest version’ was grayed out so I assumed I was on the latest. I’m going through the uninstall and install routine to see if I can install the latest version that you suggest.
I’m on version 1.9.7.4460 of the server, and I’m having the same problem. I’ve tried signing out and back in, reinstalling the Plex app, everything. Endlessly monkeying around on the AppleTV app found “recently added” content on the server, but none of the libraries.
