Apple TV not marking things watched / played

In the past couple days my Apple TV has stopped marking things watched or keeping track of where I left off on TV and Movies. Works fine on my iPad. Happened a month ago but I thought it was the database error saying it was corrupted. Killed and rebuilt PMS from scratch, re-added all media, and same.

Also not even showing in the Now Playing area now. Shows the bandwidth from it, just not what is causing it.

Looks like I migh have figured out the cause. In case any one else comes looking for this. In my Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite I had Hairpin NAT / NAT loopback / NAT reflection turned on. It’s been on for years. Never had an issue with my previous gen 4K Apple TV. It still show in Now Playing and kept track of things played. It was the just release 4K Apple TV and lost it’s ability to be tracked on it’s plays.

Watching the console I saw lots of 127.0.0.1 and Loopback mentioned. Decided to give this a try and turn that off in my router. Don’t really use that feature. Started tracking right away.

Hope this helps Plex fix this bug. Everything played fine, so it had to be getting information somehow and sending it to my player, not sure why it could not remember.

Apprently that did not fix it. Back to not tracking. What the hell people. This sucks. Might have to look into another service that has an actual support desk for help.

This really sucks. There is no support email to ask Plex Support directly. Does not look like much replying back to any thread by them for issues I have looked up. Would really suck to have to find another media player after buying the lifetime pass. But if it can’t keep track of what I watch, I might as well be running a DLNA server.

Seems like if I force close the Plex app on the Apple TV and then go back in it starts tracking again. It stops tracking after playing a playlist for a long time, like if I let it play overnight. When on a play list of movies at some point it starts going out of sync. It know it’s playing something, but in the dashboard it is showing a movie that has already played. Seems like plex gets bored of tracking and just gives up.

Update: Still same thing, no one from Plex has repsonded and no way to get in direct contact with them to help resolve this issue.

Sasdly there is not another sevice that allows me to stream outside of my house and share with friends as easily as this.

UPDATE: Same as before. Still no reply from anyone or more importantly Plex. Are they even still developing this thing? I can google/stack my way through most programming issues. Can you hire me and I will work on this issue for FREE!

So far drinking a ■■■■ ton of alcohol has not helped either.

UPDATE: Still no reply from anyone remotely asscociated with Plex. Not even a fellow plex user, enthusiast or hater. Not sure how much longer I can go on living like this. At some point I will have to drive up to where they work and start baning on the doors to get some answers. Now experiencing issues where when I add another copy/version of a movie one is being unmatched. But I will create another thread to be left un answered for that issue later.
