Apple TV Remote Won't Move Cursor To Certain Areas

Since someone’s update in the past week or two, moving the cursor within a TV show (for instance, I want to delete episode 1) I can open up the Season folder showing the episode, this gives me ‘Play’, ‘Marked as Watched’ and ‘More’. I cannot cursor down to access these options for Episode 1. But I can on Episode 2. This is how I access the Delete menu and it used to work just fine. In fact, it works just fine on the same setup upstairs. I’ve reset, reprogrammed, etc. Any ideas?

I’m seeing the same thing. But I’m also seeing similar weird cursor behavior (cursor not moving or skipping over entire rows of normally navigable items) in the current version of the Peacock app on my Apple TV 4K (latest gen, with new style remote). I just updated to the new tvOS 16 last week. I don’t recall seeing this kind of problem in any app before I updated to tvOS 16.

I thought I read it was fixed in a Plex update that’s in beta, but I could be wrong.

Yes it’s fixed in the latest TestFlight release. There’s another issue that’s far more serious in the last stable release regarding surround audio and that’s also fixed in the same TestFlight beta release.

I’m pretty surprised that release hasn’t hit the mainstream stable release yet but I’m sure it will in the next day or two.

Apple TV Model: A1842 (32 GB)
tvOS: 16.0
Resolution: 2160p
Plex App Version: 8.8.2 (3895)
Plex Media Server Version: 1.28.2.6151

I’m curious, has the fix already been distributed? Or is it still in the beta / test flight stage? I’ve got some UI/UX video if you guys need it?

My iPhone app has updated (manually) but my AppleTV has not. I’m not sure if one can manually update apps on it. I think we have to wait until the update is pushed out. SONY—Soon Only Not Yet.

It’s been released by Plex, and it’s in the ATV App Store.
