I just updated my Apple TV 4K (latest model) to TVOS 16.
I now have no control over the FIRST episode. I can NOT change the watched status. I can NOT move the cursor below the episodes thumbnail ONLY on the first episode of ANY TV series.
NO other changes made. Classic or Modern - NO difference.
Just tried on my apple tv and you’re right, it’s impossible to move down to play etc from the first episode in a season.
I’m experiencing the same thing - Plex 8.8.1 and tvOS 16.0 (A1842).
Same here, also center channel on 5.1 encoded videos is silent in direct play, have to force transcoding for center channel to work.

Yep reported elsewhere. Did initially get a response from @BigWheel but nothing further sadly.
Didn’t see this topic but our tvOS dev was able to repro this on 16 ( not 15) and was looking into it. I updated the other topic about and hour ago. Just took another look at bug report and looks like they just made a fix. So after it goes through release process it will likely be in an update soon

happen to me too…
I just got tvOS 16.1 (20K5041D). Plex 8.8.1
Still no “direction down” on any 1st episode!
Plex just pushed 8.8.2. Did NOT fix the problem!
tvOS 15.6/Plex 8.8 still works.

The fix is in the 8.9 (3900) beta

But the 8.9 brings the question… My ATV4K with tvOS 15.6 works fine, will the 8.9 update break the older version?
This is Apple’s fault, NOT Plex. I think I will wait for a fix on the Apple side of things.

8.9 fixed all of my issues. I updated my ATV4K to tvOS 16.0 and all is well!
