Plex Player on Apple TV 5.11.1

AppleTV plays audio only.
Files are AVI, MKV
It does play on our iPads using the paid version of the app
Plays on PC’s
All devices connected to the same network of course.
Any ideas? Can anyone help?
In my experience the Plex client on Apple TV is a mess. I have had multiple issues with playback buffering etc. Each update would fix something and break something else. Fire TV (which recently broke due to a Plex app update, had to be restored to 6.12) and other clients outside my home all worked flawlessly.
I have switched to using Infuse on my Apple TV. No more issue with playback of any file types, and same functionality as the Plex client. No more troubleshooting. No more looking at forums.
I still use the Plex app on my phone, tablets, other set top boxes etc. They all work great. For whatever reason the Apple TV client has given me issues since day 1.
