Arabic shows are not showing

Server Version#:freenas-11.3-u2.1
Player Version#:4.22.3

Hi, i recently moved to FreeNAS and installed PLEX on it, i can see all the English shows and movies but not the Arabic ones.

This was not happening when i was using the win10 version

Any thoughts?

Would you mind sharing some more details?
e.g. …

  • is Plex not picking up the related files at all or are they not being matched?
  • have you checked the permissions of the folders for those shows?
  • how did you organize / name those shows (maybe you can give 1-2 examples)
  1. Not picking the names at all, i have mixed the Arabic and English and it only picks the English ones, tried only the Arabic ones didn’t work. Folders also didn’t work! Only picks the English titles. It is exactly the same structure i used for win10 version just copy/ paste them.

  2. Permission was another issue that i fixed

  3. Organized as per PLEx standards;
    Show name (space)-(space) S01E02
    عدنان ولينا - S01E02
    الأحلام الشهبية - S02E02

Really disappointing after setting up the FreeNAS :frowning:
It was the first thing i did after the FreeNAS setup

Have you tried updating your server and running the scan again?

The only thing left to do is to destroy the server :rofl::rofl:

  1. Restarted the server
  2. Restarted the FreeNAS
  3. Reinstalled both

I was referring to the version of Plex you have installed. Based on the version number of Plex Web you had provided, this seems to be PMS 1.18.9 (released in late March). In the meantime, PMS 1.19.3 is publicly available – so you might want to update to see if your version has an issue that has been fixed in the meantime.

And this is an issue i need to solve.

When i check for plex version update it says that i have the latest version on plex installed but when i go to the plex web it shows a notification that i need to update it. Any idea how to update it

YOU ROCK!

It worked after updating it manually

I don’t know how to thank you

Question,

I am trying to mqke plex automatically fetch the poster pictures

I save the picture within the folder using the show name
Using the folder name
Using the poster as file name

Nothing worked and the agent is set to local media assets as the first option

The naming depends on how you’ve organized your library:

  1. if you have all movies in a single movie folder, the posters should be named same as the movie file
  2. if you have individual folders per movie, you can simply name the poster poster (or cover…).
I’m getting my best results with this scenario (also with regards to performance).

Example for #1:

Movies <- the folder linked to the Plex movie library
   Movie Name (release year).ext
   Movie Name (release year).jpg

   A Fish Called Wanda (1988).mkv
   A Fish Called Wanda (1988).jpg

Example for #2:

Movies <- the folder linked to my Plex movie library
   Movie Name (release year)
      Movie Name (release year).ext
      poster.jpg

   A Fish Called Wanda (1988)
      A Fish Called Wanda (1988).mkv
      poster.jpg
      poster-2.jpg
      background.jpg

With tv shows it’s the same except you’re required to use #2 anyway. You can then store a poster on the show and season levels.

Thanks, it worked when i applied, Match>> auto match>> personal media shows

Is there i way i can set that it picks the picture automatically up to all shows i have without going one by one

  1. Go to Settings > [Server Name] > Agents
  2. Make sure you have Local Media Assets enabled for all applicable agents (e.g. Plex Movie and The Movie Database for movies, TheTVDB and The Movie Database for tv shows).

If local media assets aren’t automatically picked up this implies you have not enabled Local Media Assets for the agent used within this library.
