Arcade feature not populating in Plex

Hello,

I just subscribed to Plex Arcade and linked my Parsec account, but I don’t see anything on my plex as to where to play these games. I have the latest Plex update installed on Windows. Any reason why I can’t see the Arcade tab?

It’s not a tab. It’s a new media library type. Create a new library and “Games” will be a new option.

Yeah that’s the sort of info you need on sign up page or something cos it took me ages to find it!!
Also despite me signing up and also having the option ticked noting at all is showing up in the library so this seems to either be broken or hasn’t actually bee tested properly before pushing out to us, not to mention there was no info about this at all we only know about it due to the patch notes then had to go hunting.

We’re working on adding more documentation soon. Please post any questions you have and I’ll try my best to answer them.

Ok

  1. Why is noting showing in my library, I have ticked the show Atari option but nothing pops up at all even after multiple scans and server restarts?
  2. What’s this I have been told on Reddit about cores, I also saw a post on here why do I need it if its meant to be build in to the new update.
  3. Why was this pushed out without any sort of announcement and leaving a lot users confused as to what and how it works?
  4. Why is it only a 7 day free trial when so far in the hour I have spent with it its not worth a dim due to the poor documentation and execution? This should have been in testing for a bit first and at least a 30 day trial to help use work it out!
  5. When you sign up you should actually have been immediately directed to a information/guide page on how to get this all working and what to do, I should not have had to go back and forth to work it out to find its still not working!

More info available at https://support.plex.tv/articles/categories/features/arcade/.

That article doesn’t answer most of my questions unfortunately, oh well I will look at this whole thing again down the road for now its a no go as its been very poorly thought out and executed which is a shame cos it sounded amazing!!

I’ll answer your questions from above.

1 - Check your Plex Media Server application support folder to see if there is a “Games” folder. If so, delete it and try creating the Games library again. Don’t point the library to any folder.
2 - you need to provide your own core, there are lots of cores out there and some work better than others for certain games, use the one you think works best
3 - there were announcements, even an entire blog, some users just found the release notes first
4 - can’t say why it’s 7 days, that’s what was decided
5 - we provide support articles for things like this

What other questions do you have?

Well by the looks of the reply’s on Reddit and here these “Announcements” seem to have gone completely under the radar, I normally get a email when there’s a blog post, not had one lol

As for the support article its not 100% clear as there are still a number of users on reddit trying to work out just what to do.

Also this Atari stuff is still not showing at all not matter what I try

Oh wait now I see the blog post, funny how its was published TODAY after we all questioned it thats not an announcement!

Mind the attitude, please. The blog was published 5 minutes after we turned the feature on, and there are emails going out at the moment, just because you didn’t receive one immediately doesn’t mean we aren’t sending them.

Sorry it just the whole thing seems to have been done backwards and has actually coursed quite a commotion on reddit, and for a service that your asking for payment of should not be so frustration or hard to work out

I’m having trouble adding the Games library. I updated to the latest version of Plex Media Server. I signed up for a Parsec account and linked it to my Plex Arcade account. When I try to add a Games library to my server, there is no Games library option to select. I’ve tried rebooting my server and PC. Anything else I can do to troubleshoot?

You’ll need to be a bit more specific about the version of PMS you’re using, and what happened when you tried to create the library. Could you provide that info, please?

Sure! PMS 1.21.2.3939. When I tried to create a Games library, I clicked on the plus next to my library name and the add library UI popped up. There was no Games option listed. Only Movies, TV Shows, Music, Photos, and Other Videos.

Hmmm, well, first, maybe start by restarting the server, and then refreshing Plex Web (either the bundled or hosted web app).

Refreshing Plex Web did it. Thanks!

I’m having the same issue. I started my trial yesterday and I still can’t figure out getting this started. I subscribed to plex arcade and I made an account with parsec. When I go to add a new library Games does not show up. Last in my list of options is other videos. This whole launch was not made user friendly. I’ve spent two days scouring the internet trying to find answers. 7 days isn’t a long enough trial when it takes several days to even start.
