Adding Plex Gaming library is not allowed

Server Version#: 1.37.0.2706-5b2cfe50

I am not trying to add Plex Arcade. I am simply trying to add a new Library of type Games. I can choose Libraries | Add Library | Games (icon). I get the dialog box that asks me for a name, I choose Next. The dialog box states:

“”"
Introducing retro gaming in Plex, brought to you by Plex Labs!

With a Plex Arcade subscription, you can play and stream many of your favorite retro games on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Android, iOS or Apple TV devices! Try it for free for 7 days!
“”"

Underneath, is an active >> Subscribe Now << button. Mine is Plex gold colored since that is my current theme.

Beneath the button, a checked dialog box that says “Include dozens of classic games from Atari like Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command and more!”. This is grayed out and cannot be changed.

Beneath, “Add folders to your library” with a >> Browse for Games Folder << button. This is inactive/grayed out. It cannot be clicked. This is the button I am hoping to use to point to my ROMs.

I’m just trying to add a Games Library. I’m using Core Manager for managing cores and the XML file. I’ve enabled “Experimental Features” for my Plex Pass account.

You cannot add a games library without an active subscription to Plex Arcade.

Can you point me to where you found that? This document makes no suggestions that you can’t organize ROMs and Cores/emulators on your own: https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-game-files-and-cores/

For example, it suggests you do not need to take on the Atari integration with Plex’s service provider:

“If choose not to install the provided Atari games, this folder will not be created for you and you will need to create this folder manually.”

This is correct, but you still need to have an active Plex Arcade subscription to use the service. It is detailed pretty clearly in the following article. → Getting Started with Plex Arcade | Plex Support

Thank you for the link.

Maybe the Plex Czars could think about naming the library “Arcade” to match the required subscription, Plex Arcade. By naming it “Games”, it almost seems like Plex has allowed users to organize their game media like their movie media. I was mistaken. What I think this really is a monthly surcharge to setup Arcade and then manage games if you can navigate the numerous conditions.
