Suppose I have a set of already watched movies or TV shows which I still want to show up on my Plex server, but I do not want to take up disk space. Essentially I want to delete the physical files off the hard drive but somehow retain the movie or TV show in my Plex library so I still know I have it in my archives.
Although it would take a lot of work one way I can think of to do this is to manually replace the original large files with a smaller file. Same filename but smaller physical file. Even better would be for me to be able to flag a movie or TV show as an “archived item”. This would simply mean I have it, but it’s something I would need to put back online. Anybody know of a better way to deal with this?
