In case anyone hasn’t heard, in the next update for Windows 10 and XBox One, Microsoft is implementing a feature called Compact Overlay. It is basically their replacement for the Snap feature they had before. It allows one app to overlay itself on top of whatever you are doing. So, it enables picture in picture where you can be playing a game on XBox One and then still have a movie playing in the corner of the screen.
At launch, Microsoft has said their TV and Movies app as well as Skype will support this feature but it’s up to developers to add this to their own apps. I think more than any app currently available, this is important for Plex to have. I’m hoping that the devs are already researching how to add this feature and getting it ready.
