Are there other sites Plex uses for TV shows other then TVDB

hi i have question
since the theTVDB. website and forums dont help you…
with them having wrong tv episodes for a season

since wiki and thetvdb and moviedvb showing wrong episodes for season 3 of when calls the heart. but Netflix and cbc are correct…
can i get plext to point to them… as its a 10 episode season not 3
what other options does plex point to for tv shows

TheTVDB, TheMovieDB, or manual metadata input (Personal Media).
TheTVDB can additionally be modified to use either ‘AiredOrdering’(default), ‘DVD Ordering’ and ‘Absolute Ordering’.
That’s it.

on the tvdb i edit it the order i add 2 episodes and erase there order and re enter the correct order… then 15 20 min they delete it… i posted in there forums and they delete my questions… very frustrating
so how do you do manual metadata input and tvdb
as there order is correct 1-8 but its needs to be erased and go 3-10 and then id add the correct 1-2 episodes

You don’t modify it on TheTVDB website.
Each show on there actually can have several orderings. Plex can use 3 of these orderings. You can choose among them, when you edit the show in Plex, at its highest level.

ah ok ill give it a try … i was modifying on te thetvdb… because they are wrong.
even told them netflix is the correct order and they need to fix it. so frustrating when they wrong they dont listen lol

but ok ill give that a try

TVDB has a lot of shows all messed up since there recent updates…

We need a better database to pull from…

I wont even get into trying to get things fixed at TVDB, they are right no matter what…

ive also noticed same with the moviedb

if a pilot or a movie is prior years say 2000 but show never came to be till 2015 both tvdb and moviedb consider the show started in 2000… and it messes up things where imdb is right

and ya they even deleted my 2 questions as i wanted to fix it in thetvdb… they dont care and some comments i seen they get nasty in there like they gods gift

They are - unless you want to hand edit everything.

TVDB goes by the official air date and some shows have a DVD order.
If anyone has ‘issues’ with the way TVDB is running things - Use TMDB or Hand Edit, 'cause you simply WILL NOT change their minds on it - whatever it is.

Words of wisdom to remember:
TVDB is always right - even when they’re wrong.

TheTVDB do have 'Custom Ordering’s now. One of which is mirroring the Netflix ordering on some shows already.
However, Plex hasn’t learned to handle those yet.

Interesting…

Anyway - in all my years and millions of episodes (probably), I have had one use for TVDB’s DVD Order - FireFly.

Everything else either didn’t matter that much, or they were, in fact right, and I was wrong.

Is there a definition of these ordering options? I’ve never heard or seen this feature before.

Which ones?
They should be for sure in the rules for TheTVDB.

The three episode ordering options in your screenshot.

But even the TVDB doesn’t follow them, they switch the airdate with dvddate order all the time… Keep changing the show date at will…

You can look them up at TheTVDB website. Some shows have them, some don’t.

For anyone else interested. From TVDB forum post https://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?p=19692#p19692

Aired Order: This is the order the series aired in on the original network/country. This is not debatable if a series is wrong then tell us don’t use a f*****d up entry as an excuse and example to try and change things to fit your individual needs.

DVD Order: The order of the series on DVD again based on original release/country if I’m not mistaken which is rare… trust me.

Absolute Order: Often ignored and used only for anime and cartoons, this should be considered the end all be all intended ordering for any series. If dvd and aired ordering don’t work you need to be using this because it should be accurate assuming it’s filled in.

ah ok i tried to tell them the air date was feb 14th 2016 a pre season 3 opener… they keep deleting my manually editied on there season 3… after 15-20 min they just deleted it… they have the episode under there unassigneed… and i told them netflix and CBC canada show it as episodes 1 and 2… its frustrating… but i given up with them… whats the point… if they not going to listen right… as long as plex can see it i dont care fed up they delete you if you mention they wrong… i havent gotten to try the option you showed in pic yet… as my unraid is doing a parity check so i have plex disabled and ill try it tomorrow… but it is frustrating
