I think I put this idea out there in the very beginning when PLEX added artist radio feature to the player / server. The feedback I got was perhaps they would be adding this feature sometime in the future and it would a PLEX Pass only feature (which Im fine with).
Here is the suggestion: When selecting the artist radio option, I think it word be a great idea to have a slider or an area where you could enter a percentage of the playlist created to be of that artists songs. Often when selecting artist radio, it starts off with a song by the selected artist, but many times that’s the only song I’ll hear by that artists in the playlist.
Perhaps not even a percentage, but a “some”, “more” or “many” slider (30%, 50% or 80%) … that way when the playlist is created the algorithm would select a portion of the songs from that artist and include them in the playlist.
It doesn’t seem like it would be a terribly hard thing to implement, but EXTREMELY handy and really make the artist radio playlist that much more enjoyable.
I get that the “smart playlist” created for artist radio want us to experience perhaps this artists associated with the artist we chose, but sometimes I like to hear the selected artist every 4 or 6 songs while listening.
Something maybe the PLEX programing team would consider adding.
