Artwork for new movies

Server Version#:Latest
Player Version#:l
I have added several new movies where the info from Plex is wrong. Among them Richard Jewell, Midway, 1917 and Little Women. Any ideas?

The most common root cause for such mismatches is poor/wrong naming of your files.

Naming for those should be one of the below

With folders for each movie

Movies
  Richard Jewell (2019)
    Richard Jewell (2019).ext
  Midway (2019)
    Midway (2019).ext
  1917 (2019)
    1917 (2019).ext
  Little Women (2019)
    Little Women (2019).ext

Flat structure

Movies
  Richard Jewell (2019).ext
  Midway (2019).ext
  1917 (2019).ext
  Little Women (2019).ext

Where .ext refers in each example to the file extension.

If this is mp4/m4v files and depending on your agent configuration the mismatch can also be caused by an embedded title tag.

I tried tro get the artwork for some movies before it was available. All fixed except Richard Jewell. when I go to match it, the correct movie title comes up, and only that title come up, but when I click on it, information for a 2001 movie called The Mule shows up and populates the match info. I was hoping that the powers that be would pick up on the error, but every few days I try to match it, and The Mule shows up again. I have over 5000 movies and hundreds of TV shows on the server, and this is the first time it has happened. I think Clint is the common denominator.

Same here. I have it named Richard Jewell (2019) in a folder of the same name. When I try to match it the correct one comes up, but still it points to The Mule 2001. Which is even wrong for The Mule, it came out in 2018. The wrong Clint Eastwood movie.

Yep I have the same Richard Jewell error with it coming up as The Mule, whatever I try to change it does it and auto matches back to the wrong artwork…
Next up im attempting a manual image and be done with it

The error was not on my part or the part of anybody else that had the same problem. There WAS a problem at Plex which they eventually fixed. The Artwork for Richard Jewell is now correct, and no longer downloads artwork for the wrong Clint Eastwood movie, The Mule or an obscure documentary. I have over 6000 movies and/or programs on my server, and this is the first time it happened. There have been many times when the match was incorrect, but the correct option was there for the choosing To give arcane instructions was not necessary, but some people like to brag about their expertise, and denigrate other’s abilities whether true or not. I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but to send somebody or somebodies on wild goose chases is not good.

Try it again. It seems that the Plex error was corrected. My Richard Jewell now says Richard Jewell. No more The Mule or sometimes I got the artwork for some obscure documentary.

Mine is still picking up as The Mule. I have the file name in the folder as Richard.Jewell.2019.mp4 but it’s still picking up as The Mule, even if I manually correct the search to Richard Jewell 2019 it still picks up all the wrong info.

Does your mp4 have embedded metadata in combination with the agent of your library having “Local Media Assets” prioritized over the other sources?
