Hi, long time user first time poster.
UK based and am just about to get rid of Virgin media.
Running a HP Proliant Microserver Gen8 with windows. Plex plus account. Plex media server is up to date 1.12.0.4829
I purchased a Hapauuge WinTV Dual and set it up no problem. On the server it plays HD TV through the WinTV8 app.
My problem is that as soon as I add it to my plex account my CPU goes from 1% to 99% and stays there due to PLexMediaServer.exe. THis is just when the only thing running is building the EPG. I let it go on for a couple of days and the EPG finally finished, but the CPU still runs at 90%+. AS soon as I remove the DVR from the plex app my server CPU drops back to single figures. It’s not even transcoding because there are no programs running. If i play a film etc I can see the PlexTranscoder using some CPU but not a lot.
I’ve tried unistalling the WinTV app from the server in case there was a clash as reported on teh Plex help page. Made no difference.
I did once get a program to play live on my Iphone plex app, but cpu was still maxed out.
It also managed to record a rugby match for me, but mostly when I try to watch a live program it says it failed to tune the channel.
Any ideas or help gratefully recieved.
