Aspect ratio incorrect when watching Now 80s (UK)

Player Version#: 7.28.0.15501 (Fire TV 4K)

As far as I know, this has been the case for a long time and is not unique to either this version of the Plex Fire TV app or the generation of Fire TV - it’s the same across (I’ve tried this on Gen 1 and Gen 2 of Fire TV + Fire TV Stick 4K). When watching Now 80s (in the UK), the picture aspect ratio is compressed, with large black areas on the left and right of the image, it is is not 4:3, more like 3:3. If I force transcoding the aspect ratio is correct.

Thanks for reporting this, just to let you know we are working on new player support for Live TV, which should fix a lot of issues around Live TV playback, including this one. Support for this new player will be releasing to beta and opt in very soon :slight_smile:
