ATV 3G Skipping FLAC content

Has anyone here had issues while streaming FLAC content to ATV 3G via PlexConnect? 

 

The media will begin to play fine, but after 3-10 seconds skips to the next track. It seems the skipping times are random, but a full song is never played. 

 

I have confirmed the media is functioning as I can load it flawlessly via the Plex Home Theatre app via my MacPro. 

Any thoughts on this issue?

Multiple reports on that one... the current thinking is, that the PMS transcoder doesn't fully support FLAC. Can you verify if Plex Home Theatre is capable of replaying it natively, i.e. without transcoding?

Thanks for your reply. I am not sure whether or not PHT can support it natively or not... 

Formats

There is no single digital format for audio, there are many. The most common are:...

  • Others that you can run into but are not common: Vorbis, FLAC. Both supports multiple channels, but few receivers natively support them, even though at least FLAC is on the rise.

What I take away from that is PHT is reliant on the receiver - so I suppose it transcodes it if the hardware is missing?

Check the PMS logs when playing one... it should show you some info on transcoding. Or not. :-)

I am on Version 2.3.14  - which is the latest version according to the update agent.

That version has the fix, so as Baa said, look in the PMS logs to see whats happening.

I am running 0.9.11.7.803 and am running into the exact same issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
