Hi have an apple tv3 with plex installed but for some reason it keeps dropping I know it must be something to do with the MacBook Pro that I am using for the media server.
To get it to work again we have to recreate the certificates and rerun the sudo command, the switch to the Apple TV and delete profile and re-enable the cert.
IP has stayed the same on the MacBook, ip4 is set to use DHCP 192.168.1.160 DNS on atv is set the same.
Cannot not even access netflix on atv let alone trailers if I set DNS to router DNS everything is fine but no plex.
It’s done it 3 four times now so well versed on getting it going but bit of a pain having to keep doing this.
Would using DHCP with manual address stop or the other option of totally manual.

Hmm looks like it’s going to be a mission as we need at least four statics and four roaming.
Have gaming pc, general purpose pc ( hardly turned on) MacBook Pro possible sky hd box and Apple TV3. The two iPads and two iPhones all these devices access the MacBook Pro running plex media centre.
The iPads and phone are roaming as they go to friends and neighbours and use their wifi.
I must stress all the devices are wifi nothing on Ethernet
Don’t set static IP’s but instead use DHCP reservations, that way you have no issues if the devices move to other networks.
Think I have sorted it, once it got my head round it. The only way I will know is if it keeps working I have sorted the reservations and for backup changed the lease to 21 days instead of one

Yeah I just set it for ATV and the MacBook Pro plex media server to use the IP as a DNS for the atv
