aTV3 - Ubuntu - Trailers are unavailable

Hello,

First setup: PMS on Macbook Pro and Apple TV 3.
I followed the guide on http://langui.sh to enable Trailers as a PlexConnect client and it worked like a charm.

Then dug out an old PC laying around and installed a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 version on it to use as a PMS. Ubuntu is pretty much standard out of the box with minor adjustments. It runs Python 2.7.6 and I've disabled the ufw (firewall) even though I opened ports 53, 80 and 443 prior to disabling it. I can stream content from the Ubuntu PMS to my iPad without any trouble.

But I can't get PlexConnect on aTV to work. I generated the certificates on the Ubuntu machine but used Apple Configurator on my Mac to install the profile. I removed the old profile on aTV before installing the new one, and verified on the aTV that only the profile pointed to Ubuntu is present.
I've also changed the aTV dns and pointed it to the Ubuntu PlexConnect server.

Still I only get "Trailers is unavailable" on aTV. The interesting part is that when I select the Trailers app on aTV I see an incoming request on the PlexConnect console printout which can been seen in the log linked at the end.

Specifications:

- Apple TV3: FW 6.2 (6698.99.50.31)
- DNS: 10.0.1.8
- Local IP address of PlexConnect & PMS (running on same server): 10.0.1.8
- PMS and PlexConnect is installed on PC Ubuntu 14.04.
- PMS version: 2.2.3 / 0.9.9.14
- PlexConnect downloaded 9 august 2014 from GitHub (master).

Based on the Log, I suspect there is an issue with the Certificates, either on the ATV or in the Folder as you can see the intercept request, but it goes no further, so to me that says the Certificates did not match.

When you moved to Ubuntu it was not necessary to generate new certificates. You could have copied certificates from the Mac to the Ubuntu, and leave certificates untouched in the aTV.

So, if you can still use the aTV with the Mac (probably you have to reload the old certificates in the aTV), you can proceed from that point.

Yep it was a certificate issue. Strangely I thought it should have given me another error message rather than "Trailers are unavailable". Perhaps a better error message could be added in the future?

Anyhow I solved it by generating new certs on my Mac and installing them on the aTV and copying them over to the Ubuntu PlexConnect machine so now it works.

Thanks a million!

Unfortunately because Plexconnect just Hijacks a standard ATV application (Trailers) the error messages cannot be controlled and you just get the standard message onscreen, however thats why the log is so detailed so any real issue can be investigated, but even then if its a mismatch of the certificate nothing can really be seen, It was only that I could see you had intercept requests that I knew it was directly related to the Certificate.
