Trailers Not Available. Try Again Later.

We are having some trouble with our Apple TV3 connecting to plex through the Trailers app. I have filled out the form (below) and am hoping someone can help me. We are not sure what else to try. See the form for details on what I've tried to resolve the issue.

Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software):

aTV 3 Running Firmware 6.0

The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings > general > network > DNS):

192.168.1.13

The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on:

PC - Windows XP SP3

The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on:

192.168.1.13

The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:

PC - Windows XP SP3

The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (do not put 'latest'):

0.9.8.6.175-88ffbb2

The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:

192.168.1.13

The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any testing branch e.g. the Elan/PlexInc one.

Version 0.9.8.6

The content of your 'Settings.cfg' file (if you do not have this file you are running an old version, please update)

[PlexConnect]

Detail on the media file if it is an issue related to playing a media file (in order to get the necessary information on a particular media file go into the Plex web interface, select the video file, when it brings up the page for the media file click on the "i" information button on the left hand side, it will then bring up a "media info" box, click on the "View XML" button, it will then open a browser window with the relevant information, copy this to http://www.pastebin.com and use the pastebin link to post the details; posting the information directly in the forum may mess up the formatting and generally takes up a lot of space):

No media file.

A detailed description of the issue (the clearer you can make this the better):

Trailers will not connect. Screen says Trailers Not Available. Try again later.

Internet is connected. Connection to Vevo and other default aTV3 items work fine.

Local IP 192.168.1.13 is reserved for the PC running PMS.

I have turned off the settings on my modem so that it is in bridge mode so hopefully no double NAT issues.

At canyouseeme.org Port 80 for my ip 99.252.253.137 gives the error: Error: I could not see your service on 99.252.253.137 on port (80)
Reason:
Connection timed out. Port 32400 says: Success: I can see your service on 99.252.253.137 on port (32400)
Your ISP is not blocking port 32400

I have set up port forwarding on my modem to add port 32400 and have pointed it to my local ip 192.168.1.13

Certfile path in settings is: certfile = C:/Program Files/PlexConnect-master/assets/certificates/trailers.pem

I am able to access the server from my ipad app without any issues.

I have also allowed exceotions in my firewall for python, plex connect and pms

Ensure you post your 'PlexConnect.log' file to pastebin and post the link:

Thank you!

Could my issue be that I have the cert file here?

C:/Program Files/PlexConnect-master/assets/certificates/trailers.pem

Certfile location should be fine.

Your issue is... PlexConnect does not get any http/https requests from aTV (in the log you should see something like "serving application.js" as next step).

I don't know what this is with windows... every third day someone else complains about this or a similar issue :-(

How about firewall? Router DNS cache? ...

One thing I didn’t mention is that during the install there are three commands to run in the cmd prompt. The third one (type C: railers.key >> C: railers.pem) gave me an error. I included the word “type” but it gave an error about type. I will re-create the error and post it here. I didn’t think much of it because I did end up with three files on the c drive.

I’m using my husbands old PC running win XP. Also, I can’t right click to run as administrator. Could this be because he doesn’t have a password to log in the computer?

Thanks for all your help and suggestions!

In the cmd prompt is says Windows cannot find ‘type’

I did a fresh install into a different directory to see if it made a difference. It's still not serving up the application.js file for some reason. Here's a new link to the log file set to 'High'
