ATV3 & Windows 8.1 - Can't get PlexConnect working at all

Hi, you all seem really supportive so I hope you can help me.

I’ve been trying to set up PlexConnect so I can access my Plex Media Server files through my home network. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to get the darn thing working.

I end up with my AppleTV screen just showing ‘Computers’ and ‘Settings’. I have tried to turn off my Windows firewall but still no help. I’ve installed PlexConnect into myriad differnt places (Program Files, Program Files (x86), My Documents & currently in the root C: folder).

I have followed the guides again and again and restarted everything multiple times. I know I am missing something simple?

I think my ATV is talking to my server, because the PlexConnect cmd window is showing me DNS requests, but it doesn’t seem to connect onwards to the internet.

When I reset the DNS settings on my ATV to automatic, everything seems to be normal (though obviously, no plexconnect).

I have installed the certificates on my plexconnect using the network method, pointing it to http://192.168.1.64/trailer.cer and it has added the profile correctly, with my Apple TV stating:

Status: trailers.apple.com
Received: 21/07/15
Payload: Certificate

Really appreciate anything you can do to help me…

A detailed description of the issue (the clearer you can make this the better):

Ensure you post your ‘PlexConnect.log’ file to pastebin and post the link (‘PlexConnect.log’ is located in your PlexConnect folder). If possible, follow these steps to create a “more detailed fresh” one:

ip_dnsmaster = 192.168.1.67

Can you set this to your routers ip or 8.8.8.8 and reboot plexconnect and then your aTV then see if it loads the apps after your manually point back to 192.168.1.67 on your aTV for example:

ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8

or

ip_dnsmaster = 192.168.1.x <----change to match your router ip.

Thank you so much - I had tried 8.8.8.8 previously but that didn’t work, however when I set it to my router everything worked like magic!

I really appreciate your help.
