ATV3 with Plex

Dear Friends, i have installed Plexon ATV( installed Profile with configurator too). but when i start trailer on Atv, i am getting the message "No Plex Library Available". i can access my Server files from my Mac, but no access to Plex Server. ATV is running with 6.0.2. Log File Attached, thanks in Advance for a possible help....Sanju.

Use Plexify for easy setup Much easier than do it manually.

thank you both of you for your replies, have installed plexify, transferred certificate again, Plexconnect is up and running. but when i click on the "Trailers", comes the Message " Connecting to the Trailer" and nothing happens. i am Running OS X Mavericks and ATV 3 with 6.0.2. attaching a new Log.

Why should one use Plexify when having that message?

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software): ATV3,6.0.2

  • The DNS server set on the ATV ():192.168.1.107

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on:192.168.1.107

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on:Mac, OSX 10.9.1

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: Mac, OSX 10.9.1

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (do not put 'latest'): V 0.9.8.18.290-11b7fdd

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: 192.168.1.107

  • The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any non-standard setup e.g. Plexify or a fork.-25Nov2013 02.17AM

Is plexgdm enabled on your PMS?


What happens if you turn enable_plexgdm = False and the. Enter your PMS IP address in ip_pms ?

i have turned the enable_plexgdm = false, nothing happens. i can access the files from my Mac (Itunes) through Channels on Trailers Menu. but the Library is still empty.......!! Sanju.

thanks for ur reply, but didn't understand your point. i meant, when i click on the "trailers" in ATV Menu, there comes 4 Menus, therefrom i can access only my files from laptop. thanks again, Sanju.

Yeah. Well. No.

You can not access all your files form your laptop - only the ones PlexMediaServer is setup to show/serve.

On your Mac, run PMS, go to MediaManager and add sections for Movies, Shows, Photos... point them to you local storage and Plex will make it all nice and shiny.

aaahhh, ok, got it.i mean naturally the files which are added to PMS library. my prob. is couldn't access any movies from Plex Server. thanks again, Sanju.
