ATV3 Won´t Start when PlexConnect on FreeNas is not in the Network

Hey guys, I just discovered a weird behaviour of my atv3.

I´m running PMS and PlexConnect on FreeNas machine within my network (Powerline) everything works just fine as long as my FreeNas is running and connected to the network. But as soon as I shut down (or disconnect) the machine my ATV will not start and is hanging just showing "Computer" and "Settings"!

I just switched from PlexConnect on my Mac to the FreeNas System.

ATV-Setting:

Ip: DHCP from my router

subnet: 255.255.255.0

Router: my routers standard-ip

DNS: the adress of PlexConnect on my FreeNAS

everything is set-up manually and I am wondering why my ATV wont Start without my FreeNAS running. I´m considering the DNS settings on my ATV to be involved in this behaviour. Any suggestions.

Here are my Settings for the PlexConnect Settings:

[PlexConnect]
enable_plexgdm = True
ip_pms = 192.168.0.200
port_pms = 32400
enable_dnsserver = False
port_dnsserver = 53
ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8
prevent_atv_update = True
enable_plexconnect_autodetect = True
ip_plexconnect = 192.168.0.201
hosttointercept = trailers.apple.com
port_webserver = 80
enable_webserver_ssl = True
port_ssl = 443
certfile = ./assets/certificates/trailers.pem
loglevel = Normal
logpath = .

I installed everything following this guide:

http://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/how-to-install-plexconnect-for-atv.18315/

Thanks for any help.

Yep... nothing new here.

Without a DNS your aTV has no chance to access anything on the net. If you need to run that way (ie without NAS/PlexConnect host) you got to switch the aTV DNS setting back.

That sounds about what I thought. But before (when pms and plexconnect was running on my Mac) this problem never showed up. So I am really confused. Dont want to change the dns everytime i wanna use my ATV without plex.

No options available?

If your router has some DNS capability, you could configure that one.

There aren´t any. Very uncharming to have my freenas running all the time!

What type of router DNS capability, is required?
