Audio eac5.1 transcoding to aac and audio is choppy, help!

Player Version#: Not sure its the web player

As the subject says when trying to stream eac 5.1 audio it looks as though the PMS is transcoding to aac and the audio is choppy on web players and on my friends streaming TV. My streaming TV plays fine though. Any reason why this would be?
