Audio hiccups on the Apple TV player

I am having a strange problem with what id described as ‘hiccups’ in the audio of every file I play. It doesn’t mater if it’s a movie or a tv episode, I keep having an issue with the audio going out at pretty regular intervals. I have not looked at the log yet, but would anyone have any ideas what’s going on? I thought maybe buffering, but the video is perfectly fine… it just the audio and it’s only for a half a second… single words get lost.

Thanks for any help!

The DEBUG server logs would really help here.

There’s not much which one can “guess” at.
The ATV should be picking it up just fine being only audio.

Are you using AirPlay by any chance? If so, it’s a known issue.

nope… server direct, thanks

this what you’re looking for? I did notice one thing in the log that kept coming up, though it seems unrelated…

Hello, any update yet? I’m seeing audio hiccups as well, though not identical, but it’s consistent.
Update: I was able to fix my audio blips by turning off the auto adjust quality in the APTV Plex app.

Try this please.

It’s not a solution or even a workaround. It’s more of a test.

  1. Go into the AppleTV app settings
  2. Set quality to 12 Mbps
  3. Switch back to OLD player engine.

Now test the audio.

I have similar issues but audio would remain “cutout”. Changing from direct play to 12Mbps WITHOUT a change to old player has worked for me. I had been doing this during playback but now set it as default for home streaming per the test instructions.
