Hey all,
I have just installed Plex for PS4 and unfortunately my 5.1 audio isn't working - in particular it seems that the centre audio is not transmitting. For example, I was watching True Detective, and the audio from the characters talking was silent, but the surround sounds were working (birds chirping, background music etc).
So my guess is that the rear left/right speakers are working, but the centre and front ones are missing the audio. Is there an issue with the transcoder?
I can confirm in the PS4 menu that I get full 5.1 with my surround, so that's not the issue - it's seems to just be Plex.
I have enabled Dolby 5.1 audio in the PS4 settings menu, and on the Plex Server I have enabled ticked 'Prefer AAC Audio' and 'Allow direct play of AC3 audio' - still has the issue.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Running out of options, and feeling a little ripped off for paying for Plex Pass to use Plex on my PS4, and then to find out it doesn't even work.
Thanks for any assistance,
Matt

that setting is for the web app player only.
can you attach the server log covering playback to a post so we see if there is an issue with the transcoder

Which log is the best one to post?
Regards,
EDIT: Here is the Plex Media Server log; http://pastebin.com/eWbx9vLW

BigWheel touched on part of this already, I'm curious about the remaining piece. Did you enable Dolby 5.1 audio in the PlayStation 4 menus outside of Plex?
If so, no worries, there are too many places where settings look like they might work. Please try one more. When Plex is running go to your user avatar in the top right > select Settings > then select Audio > finally select Dolby Digital (AC3).
Looking at your logs I can see we're not requesting AC3 audio. Testing locally I enabled the setting and AC3 audio came through correctly.
Any help?
mseeley is talking about enabling it here, which i thought you meant by "I have enabled Dolby 5.1 audio in the PS4 settings menu"
