Audio output on Plex Server (Linux) - Control with Web App

Hi there,

Setup: I have Plex Media Server installed on a Linux SBC with a DSP and DAC board attached to amp etc.

I love the Plex web interface and want to be able to have the audio played back directly on the server. Bypassing any streaming to other devices over the network.

There have been a few posts from 2013/16 where a user described requesting the same scenario but this feature was not yet implemented by Plex at the time. Posts have long since closed.

Playback audio directly on the server - control only on the web app. Is this feature now available in 2020?

No. The server relies entirely on the Player’s to “render” (audio & video).
