Audio Passthrough (Dolby Atmos...)

Server Version#: 4.12.3
Player Version#: newest, used on PS 4

Hi,

I have seen the other post but I think they dont adress my problem (or I am to stupid to understand)

Plex Server is running on a Synology Diskstation and the client is on PS4; I have a high end atmos receiver but there is no passthrough option.

Is there any way (maybe just waiting for an update?) to use the plex server and the ps4 AND have Atmos Sound? Is Nvidia Shield a way?

From what I could find, Plex will only pass-through AC3 and E-AC3 (see client audio settings).

The Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 will pass much more.
Nvidia just repaired a bug with Dolby MAT 2.0 in Shield Experience . It is now being deployed as Hotfix 8.1.1.

Just to clarify: so there is no Dolby Atmos possible with Plex… correct? :frowning:

Shield is the only streaming device with truehd atmos pass through support for plex.

Thanks for clarification and the link (that was a real good explanation)
