Audio passthrough hdmi arc DTS

Server Version#: 1.31.1.6782
Player Version#: Plex Android TV on SONY KD-49XG8377

Hello,
Sorry for the translation, I’m French, when I configure the audio passthrough in HDMI, I have all the sound formats except DTS. On the other hand in Optics the DTS works correctly but I do not have Dolby Atmos (normal it only works in HDMI ARC). I’m using an HDMI Arc soundbar.
The TV’s native player (Sony) correctly switches the different audio sources. I conclude that it is related to Plex.
Thanks in advance.

  • Be sure Plex Server and Plex Player are up to date
  • DTS HD or Dolby Atmos only works when movie comes from external player like Shield, BD Player etc and only over hdmi. When passthrough via TV you need eARC for TV and AVR/Soundbar, both must support HD Audio - your TV does not. With ARC you only get DTS/DD. If you play movie file directly from TV with APP you also only get max DTS oder DD+ (that was also my problem).
  • DTS and Dolby Digital works with HDMI (ARC) or Optical. If Dolby Digital works but DTS not, then check your Player or TV Settings. Everything passthrogh.

Hello and thank you for your interest in my problem.
The client and server versions of plex are up to date
What I don’t understand is that the sound works very well with the TV’s native application. I have a plex player installed on the decoder of my box and it works very well, I configure the passthrough on hdmi and I have DTS, DD, Dolby Atmos etc. But the plex version of the TV (which is the same as the one on the decoder) does not render DTS on the Sonos Beam in HDMI passthrough (when I choose “optical” passthrough I have DTS but no longer Dolby Atmos, normal, but the sound is shifted suddenly). I have to admit that I don’t understand.
