Plex shield tv pro problem with sound codec dts master hd and neuralx upmixer

Hi, im from Germany.

I have problem when i watch oblivion 4k and the german dts high reselution audio. When my avr add neural x to upscale the audio to my height speakers i get sound problems. The sound is like scratches or like the sound is to big for the speaker.

When i hear the English version is it ok. When i deactivated neural x in avr also.

This problem is only in the oblivion movi with plex and my nvidia shield pro.

When i play the same file over a pc i have this problem not and when i play my orginal over a bluray player is also fine.

Users had pointed out your post wasn’t really linked to the thread you had posted it in. Therefore I’m moving it into its own thread.

On what Plex client/app are you experiencing this issue (version and platform)?

Nvidia shield pro tv android version 8.25.1.28703 plex server is on synology nas.

Can you provide some details about that German audio track?
e.g. from > Get InfoView XML, looking for that particular Stream element representing that audio track

Does your A/V receiver decode the file properly if you feed it through some other means (e.g. if it can read the file from a DLNA device or file share)?

If configured accordingly, your Android TV Plex should pass-through the audio stream as-is. So this could actually be an issue with the audio stream itself.

When i use this video with plex it works withel the english language with out problems i can also add neuralx to the sound.

When i use the German language and i dont add neuralx i have no sound problems over plex. It just start when i add neuralx.

When i play the exact video over my pc directly i can use German with neuralx and when i put the orginal video in my Blurayplayer also no sound problems with neuralx.

When i use other videos on plex i can use always neuralx. Is only oblivion that make this problem.
My avr is marantz 6015 5.1.4 my setup

Does the Plex “Now Playing” Dashboard show that the audio is Direct Play or Direct Stream? Or something else?

What format is the Shield outputting?

During playback, does the receiver show that it is receiving the DCA/DTS 7.1 stream?

When i make the english one that run without noises it look so

The german one run so without noises
When i use this so.

When i watch monster hunter uhd is the same problems in the German language when i add neuralx to the dts high resolution audio.

I have test kodi on the same device and with kodi the sound is perfectly.

Please fix this problem with dts masterhd and neuralx.

From the Shield Experience 9 release notes

  • Adds support for DTS-HD HRA audio streams

However, the rollout of Shield Experience 9 has not been exactly smooth. Read the other posts on the Shield forum. Also the Plex thread linked below. You may want to wait for things to stabilize before updating your Shield, especially if you also use it as a Plex Media Server.

My problem was befor the upgrade. Since upgrade i didn’t used plex.

My plex server is on synology s220+ dsm 7 wothe last update, i think 2 or 3 days old.

I just tested again. Oblivion run now without sound issues.

I use android beta versions plex. And version 9.0.0 is also installed.
