Has anybody figured out the DTS-HD HRA 7.1 problem? Seems to be an issue dating back for a while. My Nvidia Shield is not playing that version of sound. Curious if Plex has come up with a solution or not. Or if there is a work around. 4K UHD video file I can down grade it to 1080 and the sound plays a lesser version.

Does the Kodi Plex Plugin Support 7.1 sound? My Denon AVR is showing multi channel in DD+ which is a down mix from 7.1. Just curious if you know.
If you are in passthrough mode it should (if your AVR is compatible with the source format). No downmix is done when in this mode (audio is untouched)
The problem with DTS HRA is the way the passthrough is handled by plex APP leading to make the sound track not understood by the AVR

Well, the problem behind DTS HD HRA files is quite simple. Those files are treated like DTS-HD Master Audio files, which is wrong. On Master Audio files the player opens the audio device by an 8 channel 192Khz manner and that is not applicable to HRA files. (but the player is doing so -> no audio or crippled audio) HRA files work with the audio device opened in a 2 channel 192Khz (and a sample rate of 192000 instead of 768000) manner. Shown like on the mpv repo on github (https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/pull/6209)
I hope a fix for those HRA files finds its way into the android (tv) app. Right now movies with an HRA track are unwatchable which is kinda sad. (in Germany there are many Blu-rays with such an audio track)

Still nothing, odd that some DTS-HD MA 5.1 for Fast & Furious 1-5, NO Issues. Fast 6 & 7, DTS-HD HRA 7.1 no Audio, Yet DTS-HD MA 7.1 on Fast 8 Audio is fine. Still no fixes that I am aware of.
DTS HRA is a lossy codec DTS MA is a lossless codec… a lot of French localized Blu-ray offer the French track is DTS-HRA while the original language is in DTS-MA.
Latest Shield TV firmware 8.2 does not solve the problem…
Is anyone on the Plex team aware of this? It’s been an issue for literally years. What the heck kind of bug fixing do these guys actually do?
