We have a mac mini which we use as a media hub. It’s connected to an LG OLED TV and Sony receiver. Video files which we don’t play via Plex play on our home theatre 5:1 speakers, however playing the same files via Plex results in a stereo only situation. I can’t for the life of me find the audio settings in the PMP or PMS, even when I switch them both to full screen, to allow me to access the audio settings to resolve this problem. I’d be very grateful if you could tell me what I’m missing and how to resolve this problem.
Audio passthrough is only available in Plex Media Player.
This is a separate download from the server.
It is also a different download from the ‘Plex for Mac’ app.

Thanks OttoKerner, that seems to have worked, but has led to a couple more questions. When I access the audio menu in the Plex Media Player, it won’t allow me to change any of the settings such as ‘Device Type’, this setting for example won’t switch from ‘Basic’. How do I change the audio settings please? Also, does the Plex Media Player sync with the Plex Media Server?
You can only use the keyboard to operate these menus.
Arrow keys, Enter and Esc will be your friends here.
(the TV mode is made for operation with regular TV remote controls, and not for mouse)
Ottokerner, using the keyboard has done the trick thanks.
