When returning to an audiobook (MP3 of CD’s) after going to another app on Android device, the player often restarts from the beginning of the MP3 rather than where it left off. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way round it?
On the server, edit the library containing the audiobooks and enable the “Store track progress” option:
This is only useful if your audiobooks are in a single mp3 file. If the book is in multiple smaller files, Plex will remember its place within a track, but you have to know which track to go back to.
Thank you Beckfield. I did check that and I do already have the option set as you suggest. I should have mentioned that previously, sorry.
I was wondering if it was because the App keeps reloading and asking for the user, even if the track is showing in the ‘currently playing’ item in the pull down menu. It shows the correct current position then immediately reverts to the start of the track.

I think I may have found a reason. I am using downloaded (synced) content on the mobile so I can listen when not connected and on the road. There does not seem to be an option to remember the track progress on downloaded content. What do you think?
