Audio Track Saving Play Progress Working Intermittently

I have an audiobook library set up in my Plex Server, set with “Store Track Progress” enabled for the library. But my experience with it has been intermittent. I have had two different failures with this feature.

First: I have selected a track to listen to and seen the prompt to start at the beginning or continue at the saved point. I select continue from saved point. As the track loads, the progress bar seems to clear and the track plays from the beginning.

Second: At the last listening session, I left the track active in the player. When I came back to the app, the track was still in the player at the last listening point. But when I go to play the track, the progress again resets and it starts at the beginning of the track.
